I’d like to share the story of what inspired the Creation of SPHSP with our subscribers and many members of our Single Parents groups around the world that are apart of our networks organization. But first let me share a little about myself the founder of SingleParentsHelpingSingleParents.com & SingleMothersHelpingSingleMothers.com. I was born 1975 in Rochester NY to Daniel J Leach Sr and Sue Yvonne Brooks Pinson and brothers to Gordon and Jaysen Leach who are my younger siblings.
I’d like to say my story that inspired SPHSP started when I was only 7 years old when my parents separated and divorced. I won’t go into detail about the cause of this because I don’t believe it is relevant or anyones business but my familys. But I will say this that my dad raised us three boys as a single dad until he met my step mom Stephanie Leach who had two of her own children Justin and Ashley who are now my by brother and sister that I grew up with and have know as family even till this day.
Like any family we have had our ups and downs and challenges through the years. I can say that I know what it’s like to be a child from a broken home and have seen the profound psychological effects that this had had on myself and on my brothers and sisters. I understand when the Bible says that God hates divorce and marital separation “The Lord God of Israel says, “·I hate divorce. And I hate the person who [or The one who hates and divorces] ·does cruel things as easily as he puts on clothes [L covers his clothes in violence],” says the Lord ·All-Powerful [Almighty; of Heaven’s Armies; T of hosts]. So be ·careful [on your guard]. And do not ·break your trust [be unfaithful].” Malachi 2:16King James Version (KJV) I don’t want to go into a bible study about this topic right now, but if you want to leave comments on this post feel free to.
I was thirty three when I had my daughter Ella and this is when my journey began as a struggling parent. I was like so many other parents who were struggling just to make ends meet and doing my best to hold my family together under the stresses of everyday life. I was with Ella’s Mother for the first five years of her childhood until we separated. I’m not going to bad mouth the mother of my child or go into detail about why our relationship didn’t work out especially online out of respect for my child.
Necessity is the mother of invention is an English-language proverb. It means, roughly, that the primary driving force for most new inventions is a need. When the need for something becomes imperative, you are forced to find ways of getting or achieving it.“an expression that means that if you really need to do something, you will think of a way of doing it.”
During the time that my daughter Ella’s mother and I were together we definitely struggled financially this is part of what I believe was the root cause of our separation. One of the hardest parts about parenting is the lack of support from family. Im sure if you’re a struggling parent you completely understand this and I don’t have to go into detail about my personal struggles with my family. I don’t like to gossip or cause drama in my own family’s lives so I will just keep it simple.
“In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.”― Mark Twain
Even though I worked 3 jobs sometimes 4 or more while I was in Rochester NY. I always looked for better jobs than the ones I had. I was always working on different Activism causes and businesses or entrepreneurial ventures trying to be the owner or manager of a business enterprise, by risk and initiative, in a attempts to make a better life. Even in the beginning of my building this organization SingleParentsHelpingSingleParents.com & SingleMothersHelpingSingleMothers.com I was always without the support from my family and I was always told negative put downs and even was undermined or sabotaged by family because they thought that they could run my life better than me. A few of the comments I heard was how can you help anyone you can’t even help yourself! or you can’t save the world you can’t even pay your bills! The Negativity and mental abuse is endless!
Where there is no vision, the people perish! “We are not here merely to make a living. We are here to enrich the world.”~ Woodrow Wilson. Part of our mission here at SPHSP is nurturing one’s spirit that is as important as nurturing one’s body, mind and soul. We try to encourage Healthy living and lifestyles for families through our website blog posts we encourage activism through our online forums, groups and pages. We share News, Views and reviews that’s aim is to help encourage and enlighten Single Parents.
I made this Youtube video to explain to single parents how I was inspired by my own struggle to create this websites and to form groups around the world for other struggling single parents. I also explain why I formed the single moms helping Single moms groups separate from our single Parents main website that was created originally and intended for both men and women to be in the same group but I saw the need for a separate groups for women because of all the complaints about men cyber stalking the members of the original group. I’m not a big fan of separate groups but necessity is the mother of all inventions. Iv thought about leaving the women’s group because of the insecurities of some people but I am still in development of this organization and I don’t want to give up on something that I feel is part of the bigger picture of the organization that I am building. I also explain some of our other activist causes and our websites involvement
.11 For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for well-being, and not for calamity, in order to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
I don’t want to end this in a negative way because I believe that my cause is succeeding,”Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” – Henry Ford My vision has a future and a hope I believe that God has given me this mission to build this organization to bring together all the single Parents who are weary, burdened, labour and are heavy laden to come together in the spirit of Love and cooperation! Many hands make light work. I do believe that once we have a network that is in place worldwide that we can together make the world a better place we can move mountains. I do believe that one person can make a difference not because it’s just a nice saying but because I have seen the results of not giving up on your dreams and visions. Like Martin Luther King, Jr “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” I’ve seen the other side!
Well, I don’t know what will happen now. We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it really doesn’t matter with me now, because I’ve been to the mountaintop. And I don’t mind. Like anybody, I would like to live – a long life; longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the Promised Land. So I’m happy, tonight. I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.[1] Excerpts from King’s speech
